The power of agency and choice

Share

I chose not to work out yesterday because I had to work on something important.

And when I say I chose, I mean I saw the time creep up toward the only time I knew I’d get the workout done in, and I chose not to go and to continue working on the data analysis I was . . . → Read More: The power of agency and choice

I love Boulder County

Just popped in at Whole Foods while we were in Boulder anyway. Stocked up on tempeh, freshly ground salt-free peanut butter, and apple sauce and had lunch.

Lunch at Whole Foods is always a delight. I inevitably feel like I want to eat everything in the food bar! So many delicious-looking things, and a lot of it . . . → Read More: I love Boulder County

TurboFire makes me smile

Where I usually do TurboFire.

Today’s workout was TurboFire 45 EZ. Don’t let the EZ fool you. It’s not easy.

I love the P90X cardio DVDs. Still, as I’ve improved my cardiovascular fitness with Insanity and the blue intermediate plan from Jack Daniels’ Running Formula, they just don’t exhaust me like they used to. That means it’s . . . → Read More: TurboFire makes me smile

Why being sore makes me smile

It snowed last night when I was driving home. I think it kept snowing at least part of the night.

When I was leaving for work this morning and went to scrape off my car in the beautiful snowy winter morning, my pecs hurt when it was time to scrape ice off of my windshield.

Yesterday’s workout was . . . → Read More: Why being sore makes me smile

If you want results, find the courage to get out of your comfort zone!

Like most beginners, I saw a huge improvement in my fitness when I first started doing P90X, even though I had taken myself from sedentary to running a few miles five days a week already. But for most of 2011, I was enjoying the feeling of P90X being so much easier, I just coasted. I was . . . → Read More: If you want results, find the courage to get out of your comfort zone!

P90X One on One Review: Base & Back (Development of P90X2)

This workout is kind of like Chest & Back and Shoulders & Arms in that it’s simple to wrap your head around. There’s ten moves, and you do them all, and then you do them all again.

This is also kind of like “plyometrics and back.” The “base” moves are a lot like moves from Plyometrics from . . . → Read More: P90X One on One Review: Base & Back (Development of P90X2)

Shallow but nice

Back

This may seem shallow to some. And they might be right. But something happened to me recently that reminded me of how incredibly much easier and how incredibly much more fun it is to shop when you’re a size 2/4 rather than 14/16. That isn’t why I changed my lifestyle, but I have to . . . → Read More: Shallow but nice

I love The Workout Zone

Today I had Core Synergistics on tap (recovery week #1!) and just wasn’t into it. I don’t know why. I left work on time (VICTORY!), I wasn’t working out on a full stomach, I wasn’t tired. But I just was not into it. But because I went and signed myself up for the Tough Mudder in . . . → Read More: I love The Workout Zone

25 Days of Exercise Advent Calendar

Share

I am participating in the Sisterhood of Shrinking Jeans’ 25 Days of Exercise challenge, on top of the Racing the Resolutions Challenge. (The only difference to me is doing a light workout on Sundays also, and adults don’t get advent calendars mostly, so why not?) We’re only on day 3, so I thought I’d re-post the . . . → Read More: 25 Days of Exercise Advent Calendar
